Ikedc Reveals Lagos
Musliu Oseni, the Vice Chairman of NERC, stated that customers will now pay N225 KW/h instead of N66 due to the hike.
According to PUNCH Online, subscribers in Band B receive 16–20 hours of electricity per day, while those in Band A receive 20–24 hours. People in Band C get 12 to 16 hours per day.
Additionally, Band D customers receive eight to twelve hours of electrical usage per day, while Band E subscribers only receive four to eight hours.
delivering a press conference During a news conference held in Abuja, Oseni stated that the 1.8 million subscribers in Band A comprise 15% of the nation’s 12 million energy users.
He clarified that the review won’t have an impact on fans of the other bands.
Power firms would be able to increase the price of energy for urban consumers from N68 to N200 ($0.15) per KW/h, according to a story published by Bloomberg on Tuesday, citing sources.
According to some in the administration who are aware of the situation, this is an attempt to draw in fresh capital and reduce the approximately $2.3 billion that was previously allocated for tariff caps.
