Users of Android 15’s second beta can limit access to private apps.

The most recent version of Android 15, which is currently in its second beta, has been released concurrently with Google’s ongoing developer-focused I/O conference. Some of its new features are as follows: better widget previews; you can now conceal a group of apps within a ‘private space;’ you may customize vibrations to identify different kinds of notifications simply by feeling them; and more.

Most intriguing of all is the new private area feature, which allows you to conceal apps that you don’t want other people to see by placing them in an app drawer container that is secured with a PIN or biometric. It is among the many new security enhancements that Android will soon get.

Android’s user profiles are leveraged by private spaces; thus, apps that you install in a Notifications for programs and files created or downloaded within private spaces are likewise hidden. For example, one could close all of their dating apps in a room so they don’t get flooded with matches at odd hours.

Personalized vibrations for incoming notifications is another awesome new feature. Without taking their phone out of their pocket, users may now choose different vibes for different messages—like an Uber Eats delivery notification or a Slack or Teams message.

A new feature that assists developers who enjoy creating widgets is the ability to preview rich widgets. Before adding it to their home screen, consumers are aware of how it will look. In the Widget Picker, for example, when you select the contact card option, the placeholder image of a contact card has been replaced with an actual person from your contacts list.

Other noteworthy features that weren’t included in the very boring first release of Android 15 are now available in the second beta version. Also compatible with a wider range of devices, the updated version is compatible with tablets and foldable smartphones from manufacturers like as Lenovo, Realme, Honor, Xiaomi, Oppo, Nothing, and others.
