Five bandits have been slain by Operation, Whirl Viztadaily News troops in the Dantarau general area of Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
When the military came upon the ruthless bandits, they were on a combat patrol in the Kachia-Kajuru region.
The Commissioner of State, Samuel Aruwan, the minister for home affairs and internal security, revealed this in a statement on Sunday.

Additionally, he added that numerous bandits who engaged the army in a gunfight were fatally injured, and he cautioned the community not to give medical attention to suspicious people without first contacting the closest security services.
According to him, the forces found two AK-47 rifles, a hand-made submachine gun, nine AK-47 magazines, 250 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two motorcycles, and two handheld radio sets.
The commissioner also disclosed that the air component of Operation Whirl Punch had effectively struck bandit camps in the state’s Igabi Local Government Area’s general Sabon Birnin Daji area.
‘The report states that the army started attempts to clear the Maro-Enugu axis across the Kachia and Kajuru LGAs.
‘The troops encountered the bandits at the Dantarau community, and following a heated exchange, five of the criminals were neutralized.
‘Two motorcycles, two portable radio sets, nine AK-47 magazines, a locally built submachine gun, two AK-47 rifles,
and 250 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition were also found by the troops.
Similarly, the Sabon Birnin Daji general region of Igabi LGA saw effective bandit camps targeted by the Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch.
Reputable human intelligence sources attested to the operation’s success, which included the capture of multiple robbers. A few of the robbers reportedly suffered injuries and are rumored to be hiding in the vicinity in need of medical attention.
‘People in the surrounding region are cautioned to stop from giving dubious people medical attention without calling the closest security authorities.’
As for the state governor, Uba Sani, the commissioner cited him as saying that upon getting the reports,
he was impressed by the bravery of the soldiers serving under Maj-Gen. MLD Saraso, the General Officer Commanding of 1 Division of the Nigerian Army.
According to him, the governor also praised ‘NN Ananaba and his team, Air Vice Marshall, Air Training Command,
Air Officer Exercising authority, and his team for their outstanding contribution to the security of the state.
‘The governor asked the armed forces to maintain the operational momentum.
