Armed Forces Memorial Day, The Nss Will Assist Tinubu In Putting A Stop To Insurgency And Instability

Date:

On Sunday, January 14, Armed Forces Memorial Day Senate President Godswill Akpabio reaffirmed that the National Assembly is prepared to work with President Bola Tinubu to find long-term solutions to all of the nation’s problems with insurgency, insecurity, banditry, and criminality.
In an effort to rebrand the nation, Akpabio also urged the Church to collaborate with the president.

Armed Forces Memorial Day

Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra state, came under fire from him for calling Nigeria “a dead horse standing.”

He informed the governor that Nigeria is a “horse that is bouncing, and ready to gallop and go to work,” suggesting that Anambra state might be the one he was describing.

These were the words spoken by the Senate President during the Interdenominational, Church Service for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, on Sunday.
Akpabio stated: “I must say, sure, I am not supposed to remark on the liturgy (homily) that our dear Bishop, Bishop Muyiwa, delivered today. He was speaking from the words that were placed in his lips, as he obviously ought to have done as he stood on the platform of God. However, throughout his speech, he said that many of the nation’s issues were actually brought on by the military in the past rather than the current.

“I would like to retract and make clear that the military has, in fact, taken all reasonable steps to ensure Nigeria’s security. I don’t want to correct it.”They did not start the current issue that we are facing. As I mentioned a few days ago, in 1959, during the Governor General’s handover to Nigeria following our independence on October 1st, he stated in his speech that one of Nigeria’s biggest issues was what? Corruption! Thus, since corruption predates Nigeria’s founding, the government will persist in combating it.

As a result, I would want to express my gratitude to the Bishop for acknowledging the president’s tireless efforts to bury the evil known as corruption. In addition, I would want to express my gratitude to the Bishop for all of his compliments regarding the President’s initial efforts to realign Nigeria. The thousand-mile journey has begun Step by step, the decay that is currently evident in Nigeria began as soon as the country gained its independence and led us to our current state.

It wasn’t President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s idea at first. However, I stated that it took 185 years for America to produce a president and a vice president who were both members of parliament. That was, I believe, Vice President Lyndon Johnson and President Kennedy. However, in less than 30 years, Nigeria has elected a president and a vice president to the Senate.

This indicates that they are aware of the issues at the local level and are committed to finding solutions.

I am before you as one of you to say that I will serve in this government to ensure that any complaints and issues that are on the edge of insurrection are resolved, in addition to reforming Nigeria.

“The number of men and women wearing the uniform today is insufficient. In order to safeguard Nigeria, we are committed to providing them with the means to ensure that more individuals enlist in the armed forces.

“We have begun the financial procedures, and I have no doubt that the heads of all the agencies and the leaders themselves can speak to the government’s unwavering commitment to providing the Armed Forces with whatever they require to establish complete peace in this nation. And I commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this.
