Breaking: Nigerian government suggests a new minimum wage formula worth $105,000.

The reports circulating that Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Breaking news Nigerian suggested N105,000 (approximately $71) per month for Nigerian workers, for the new minimum wage pattern have been refuted by the Presidency.

This was revealed on Thursday on his X account by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Advisor, on Information and Strategy.

‘The Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, has not proposed N105,000 minimum wage,’ the presidential aide stated.

“The story that is being spread in opposition is false.”

Edun had earlier in the day handed President Bola Tinubu the blueprint so that they could meet the 48-hour deadline.

Prior to this, Vizta Daily news revealed that Edun sent Tinubu a report detailing the expected financial effects of raising the national minimum wage.


In President Tinubu’s office at the presidential palace in Abuja, Edun and Atiku Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, discussed the financial effects of the new minimum wage.


Western Post reports that a new plan calls for paying Nigerian workers a minimum wage of N105,000 (about $71) each month.

This plan is reportedly being reviewed by Tinubu, and an official statement is anticipated soon.

This comes after labor unions went on strike on Monday in response to their meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly failing to yield a satisfying result.

Due to the countrywide disruption of economic, activity caused by the strike, international flight terminals, schools, healthcare, financial, and court systems.

The Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress, two organizations that make up organized labor, decided to call off their five-day strike on Tuesday.
