CBN lifts interest rates to 26.25%, breaking news

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) increased the benchmark interest rate by 150 basis points, from 24.75% to 26.25%, following a two-day meeting on Tuesday.

The committee is currently briefing media on the reasons behind its actions as well as additional details.
