Before the 2016 election, Stewart started working as a political commentator for CNN. Along with Maria Cardona, another CNN contributor, she co-hosted the podcast “Hot Mics From Left to Right.”

In her native Georgia, Stewart began her professional career as a local reporter and producer. She relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas, to work as a news anchor, and afterwards she was Arkansas Gov.
