Coalition to Nigerians: Trust Tinubu for better administration and more democratic dividends

Date:

Based on the achievements of President Bola Tinubu administration in its first year in office, the First Project Coalition to nigerians, a coalition of civil society organizations (CSOs),

has expressed optimism that Nigerians will experience additional benefits from democracy and good governance in the years to come.

The coalition’s stance is supported by evidence that President Tinubu has been keeping his campaign pledges, which was obtained by an extensive evaluation of important areas such as housing, social safety net programs, education, defense, and anti-corruption.

The alliance applauded President Tinubu for his dedication to carrying out his Renewed Hope Agenda in spite of the hostility and censure from certain legislators and opponents.
Hamza Umar Saulawa, the organization’s coordinator,

Claims this service believes the government has done a particularly good job of managing security issues, utilizing deliberate interagency cooperation to reduce the previously unmanageable security risks in the nation.

At the coalition’s news conference in Abuja on Sunday, Salawu said, “This is a marked departure from the entrenched tradition of some politicians who promise one thing before the election and implement another thing after the election.”

He claims that the administration has demonstrated a desire to capitalize on the momentum created by the advancements made in a number of areas in order to give Nigerians additional benefits of democracy.

‘First and foremost, we have witnessed a paradigm shift in the manner in which the various security agencies operate,’ he stated.

As we accomplish the aforementioned, we have determined that the National Security Adviser’s office has been invaluable over the past year.

This group is also pleased with how well the Tinubu administration has performed in combating terrorism and providing the Coalition to Nigerians:

In the upcoming years, anticipate further democratic dividends and wise leadership from Tinubu in the fight against armed banditry and kidnappings for ransom.

‘We are proud of our brave military personnel for taking out terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and hostages.

‘After considering all the data and statistics pertaining to the achievements in safeguarding and defending our nation, our alliance believes that the Tinubu administration is deserving of praise rather than criticism and is actively working to bring peace and security back to Nigeria.’

Salauwa further emphasized the noteworthy accomplishments of the government in the field of education during its first year, suggesting that the industry is headed in the right direction for future revival.

He stressed in particular the administration’s commitment to emphasizing education, as seen by the substantial N1.54 trillion allotted to the education sector in the 2024 budget.

The emphasis on teacher preparation, the improvement of tertiary student welfare, the enormous expansion of higher education infrastructure, and the giving of autonomy to federal tertiary institutions for hiring academic and non-academic staff are among the other noteworthy accomplishments.

He claimed that the Renewed Hope administration’s commitment to securing a better future for the nation is demonstrated by these achievements made in just one year.

The coalition claims that the Tinubu administration is shown a strong commitment to putting into place social programs that assist the underprivileged and disadvantaged, as well as identifying successful initiatives. that have positively and directly impacted the lives of the underprivileged and disadvantaged.

According to him, these include, among other things: paying workers a wage award for six months in lieu of fuel subsidies;

providing cash transfers to 15 million impoverished and vulnerable households for three months; releasing 42,000 metric tonnes of grains to vulnerable individuals;

allocating N50 billion in conditional grants from the President to traders, food vendors, and artisans;

creating the Nigerian Consumer Credit Scheme with N100 billion as a start-up fund to increase financial inclusion; and implementing Skill-up artisans (SUPA) to empower 10 million artisans.

These are undoubtedly comprehensive steps that will lessen poverty and inequality while generating wealth and jobs in Nigeria,

the Coordinator said. The coalition further emphasized that no government official has been found guilty of any financial or administrative offenses, demonstrating how well the Tinubu administration has battled corruption.

The group said that in addition to promoting public accountability and transparency, the government’s implementation of the Oronsaye report on the reorganization of the Federal civil service and the central delivery coordination unit’s monitoring and evaluation initiative also empower citizens to evaluate the performance of the Ministries through the Citizens Delivery Tracker Application.

It stated: ‘In just one year, the Tinubu administration has been able to provide citizens with the benefits of democracy, such as implementing policies that would favorably affect not only this generation but even the generation that has not yet been born.

‘There is no denying that President Tinubu has implemented all of the verifiable projects, programs, and policies that promote sustainable economic growth and development in the nation, while also taking them into consideration.’
