DHQ: Prince Harry and Wife to Visit Nigeria and Meet Military Personnel

His Royal Highness, Prince Harry, and his wife, The Duke of Sussex, a well-known member of the British Royal family, along with his spouse, are anticipated to meet military personnel during their upcoming visit to Nigeria, according to a statement released by Defense Headquarters (DHQ) over the weekend.

According to a statement issued by Brig Gen Tukur Gusau, Director of Defense Information (DDI), the royal couple will conduct a variety of cultural events and interact with service members.

The Duke of Sussex, His Royal Highness, Prince Harry, and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, have been accepted to visit Nigeria in May 2024. The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has expressed its honor and happiness at this news.

‘While they are in the nation, they will be engaging with military personnel and taking part in a variety of cultural events.
It was mentioned that Prince Harry, the Duke of Duchess, was the founder of the Invictus Games, an international multisport competition that provides a rehabilitation route for sick, injured, and wounded service members worldwide.

The statement said, ‘It also gives soldiers understanding and appreciation in society to support their path in psychological rehabilitation.’
There were roughly 500 competitors in the most recent edition of the Invictus Games, representing 21 countries, including Nigeria, which took home gold and silver in the competition’s inaugural year.
The goal of the visit is to strengthen Nigeria’s dominance in the sport and the country’s potential to host the event in the future.

The Honorable Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, Minister of Defense, who was in Germany for the competition the year before and has agreed to host the games if Nigeria is given the go-ahead,” the statement read.
