India Bloc, ‘[KC Tyagi] successfully placed to rest all the misunderstanding during the discussions with Nitish Kumar presentation supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi;’ Tyagi told NDTV.
New Delhi: Following the announcement of the Lok Sabha election results, party leader KC Tyagi stated in an exclusive interview with NDTV that Bihar Chief Minister and leader of the Janata Dal (United), Nitish Kumar, had received an offer to become prime minister from the Opposition India group. The comments were made in the midst of rumors that the INDIA bloc is attempting to entice Nitish Kumar back into the coalition in an effort to prevent the NDA from forming government for a record-breaking third time.
However, Mr. Tyagi clarified that the JDU had turned down every offer from coalition partners and intended to collaborate over the ensuing five years with the NDA.
‘Nitish Kumar’s endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech has dispelled all of the circulating rumors. When JDU joined the NDA, these reports ought to have ended,’ Mr. Tyagi said to NDTV.
‘We had to choose a different course because we were offended by the way Congress and its allies handled our leader. Nitish Kumar is now being offered the prime ministership by those who previously, believed he wasn’t deserving of the position of alliance convenor. But all of these offers have previously, been turned down by the JDU,’ he continued.
The 73-year-old added that giving Bihar a unique status would be their first demand because it would aid in the state’s development.
‘When the state divided, all the riches, including coal mines, went to Jharkhand, leaving Bihar with poverty, unemployment, and a migratory population. Without a special status, Bihar cannot grow,’ Mr. Tyagi stated.
Speculation about a spectacular reunion between Nitish Kumar and the INDIA alliance emerged on Tuesday night, following the realization that the BJP would not secure 272 seats by itself. Prominent figures in India, such as the late Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, proposed that Nitish Kumar be given a helping hand.
Though they left a sting in their tail, sources close to Nitish Kumar on Thursday ruled out this prospect. The BJP brass was allegedly advised to remember that Nitish Kumar had quit the INDIA bloc over issues related to cabinet berth allocation, while both sides were in talks about this He’s been named its Convenor after a delay.
Sources claim that JDU would hold two important positions in the upcoming cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who takes office tomorrow. Lalan Singh and Ram Nath Thakur are two senior politicians whose names the party has suggested. Ram Nath Thakur is an MP for the Rajya Sabha, while Lalan Singh was elected to the Lok Sabha from Munger, Bihar. Mr. Thakur is the son of Karpoori Thakur, the recipient of the Bharat Ratna.
