Jega, Shinkafi, and 554 other people have been named by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to chair and serve on the governing councils of several postsecondary institutions in Nigeria.

Air Cdre. Emmanuel Jekada has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University in Bauchi State, according to confirmation from President Tinubu. Usua Charles Akpan; Sen. Lanre Tejuosho, Modu Mustapha, and Olusegun Olufemi White are among the board members.

Udoma At Bayero University, Kano, in Kano State, Udo Udoma, a former minister of budget and national planning, has been appointed pro-chancellor and chairman of the board of governors. Prof. Idris Nasiru Maiduguri, Prof. Uchenna Newi, Salisu Mohammed Birniwa, and Ms. Fola Akinsete are the members who are going with him.
Chief Martin Elechi, the former governor of Ebonyi State, has been named Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board at Federal University, Dutse in Jigawa State. Other members of the board include Moses Osogi, Prof. Seun Liberty, Imamuddeen Ahmed Talba, and Ismalla Mohammed.
Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna State, nominated Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board. The participants of this team include Matthew Raymond Akpan, Opeyemi Aisha Oni, Rufus Bature, and Wumi Ohwovoriole.
In Cross River State, former governor of Adamawa State Bala Ngalari was named pro-chancellor of the University of Calabar. and the Governing Board’s Chairman; its members are . Sadat Garba, Idowu Mafimisibe, Nbadiwe Emelnmna, and Dr. Adebisi Obawale.
In addition, Mohammed Abdullahi, Ayo Afolabi, Chijioke Okeifufe, Malandi Sabo, and Aliyu Shinkafi—a former governor of Zamfara State—were named to the board of directors of the Federal University in Jos, Plateau State, serving as chairman and pro-chancellor.
Former Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda was named Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board at the National Open University of Nigeria. The other members of the board are Mr. Bola Akinola, Mrs. Betty Efekodah, Dr. Gidado Bello Kumo, and Bawuro Bapetel Yahaya.
Additionally appointed as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission is Prof. Attahiru Jega, a former chairman of the the governing board of Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, Sokoto State, which is composed of Dr. Anthony Usoro, Prof. Usman Musa, R. O. Kazeem, and Miss Mary Nyieor Yisa.

Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board of the University of Lagos in Akoka, Lagos State, has been designated as Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN. The other members of the board are Patricia Seubittere Yakubu, Rufai Chanchangi, Prof. S. E. Ogbeide, and Chief Mrs. Glory Ekpo-Oho.
