One of Australia’s leading sports executives and former Olympic powerbroker, Kevan Gosper, passed away on Friday at the age of 90, according to the Australian Olympic Committee.

According to Australian Olympic Committee President Ian Chesterman, ‘Kevan was one of the true giants of the Olympic movement, not just in Australia but globally.’
Many of his friends who are gathered in Paris for the Olympic Games will be deeply saddened by his passing.
‘There will be a plethora of there who will be grieving today over the devastating news of Kevan’s passing from all around the world.
After competing in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne and the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Gosper went on to establish a prestigious career as a sports administrator.
Before the start of assuming a significant position within the IOC and serving as a member for 36 years, he presided over the Australian Olympic Committee on Human Rights from 1985 to 1990.
