At the first President Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Leadership Conference and Awards on Monday in Abuja, the head of the EFCC delivered a speech.

Giving a speech on “The Antidote to National Development: Moral and Ethical Leadership” Olukoyede, the orator Through the Commission’s Director of Public Affairs, CE Wilson Uwujaren, expressed his opinion that low integrity quotients among many Nigerians are caused by lax enforcement of the laws enshrined in the country to uphold integrity.
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State also emphasized the importance of Nigerian leaders fulfilling their responsibilities to propel the country forward. To achieve a better Nigeria, it is crucial to trust and face the challenges ahead with unwavering belief in our potential for success. Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, expressed gratitude to the organizers for honoring the late president’s memory during his speech as an awardee. He said, “As a Commission, the EFCC identifies with the legacy Yar’adua left behind because integrity and transparency are what the Commission stands for.”
The event’s topic touches on moral and ethical leadership, which is in line with his values as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Governor of Katsina.
We are here to identify with these characteristics, and I also want to think that the future Generations to come will absorb these values.
“If you look at the job that the EFCC does, you’ll see that every crime that we set out to investigate is rooted in ethics and integrity because the government’s mission for us encapsulates the essential concepts of justice, integrity, and transparency in both the public and private sectors.
Are we discussing contract inflation, bribery, embezzlement, and all the other evils that exist in the public sector? It all comes down to a lack of moral character. Thus, I would want to beg of us to always act with integrity.
The head of the EFCC went on to say that the organization was dedicated to upholding the terms of its Establishment Act and that it would not back down from its enforcement responsibilities.
Furthermore Former Nigerian President Gen. Yakubu Gowon, who also spoke at the ceremony, commended the late president for emulating the real spirit of patriotism and for his unwavering love for his country, Nigeria.
He remarked, “I visited the state during the guinea worm outbreak that affected the people of Katsina state, and I know him from back when he was governor.
