One half of the well-known Nigerian musical duo P-Square, Peter Okoye, has responded to recent interviews in which his brother Paul stated that he was responsible for writing and singing 99% of the songs on the album.
In an open letter posted on X.com on Monday, Peter listed numerous songs he had created, including ‘Ejeajo,’ ‘Get-Squared,’ ‘Bizzy Body,’ and ‘Personally,’ which Paul had neglected to acknowledge.
Peter expressed dissatisfaction and sadness over Peter’s persistent undermining of his efforts in the.
‘My dear brother Paul,…’ was written by Peter. I am not in any kind of rivalry with you or anyone else, as I have stated numerous times. But after witnessing you grant innumerable interviews in which you consistently disparage my work in the group that Together, we both produced and built something that truly speaks.

In your recent interviews, you discredited me by claiming that our song ‘EjeaJo,’ which I composed with TI, was a failure and that you wrote and sung 99% of all P-SQUARE tracks. You even went so far as to further malign me by citing my YouTube views.
‘You never gave credit to the other songs like ‘Roll It,’ ‘Get-Squared,’ ‘Bizzy Body,’ ‘Personally,’ ‘Get-Squared,’ ‘More than a Friend,’ ‘Shekini,’ ‘Say Your Love,’ ‘Gimme Dat,’ ‘Senorita,’ “IGBEdu,” and a few more. Were these songs seen as flops as well?
Paul was accused by Peter of always using the pronouns ‘I’ and ‘me’ in interviews, giving the impression that he was the only talented member of P-Square.
‘Every time I have spoken in interviews,’ he stated About P-SQUARE, We are a team, therefore that’s why I have always said ‘we’ and ‘us.’ However, even when I’m standing right next to you, you consistently refer to ‘I’ and ‘me’ when you speak. As though I’d never existed here before.
‘You don’t realize that God gave us this gift and even gave us another chance to succeed after our previous breakup, even though neither of us is the most skilled artist in the world.
Rather than putting the most celebrated and honored musical group in Africa to shame once more, you made the decision to do so.
Peter emphasized that rather than being merely a one-person band, P-Square’s appeal stemmed from their collective effort and distinctiveness.
‘There is one thing you must understand very well, which is that the fans didn’t fell in love with P-SQUARE based solely on who could dance or sing best.
Our unique quality stemmed from the enchantment we created when working together, the two of us! P-SQUARE was a force to be reckoned with, and our togetherness and individuality won the fans over.
‘I have often complimented you on your songwriting skills in our interviews; there is no denying that we both possess talent.
As Mr. P, I have also given thanks to everyone who has ever written a song for us or even for me.
However, you seem to take pleasure in shoving my compliments in my face rather than being appreciative of them, disregarding the reality that we have only made it this far because of God’s grace.
Instead of teaming up with me In an attempt to take back our top status in the music business, you teamed up with Jude to take the top slot within the P-SQUARE group.
You’re constantly looking for methods to make fun of and marginalize me.
‘You always assert that you are P-SQUARE’s manager, promoter, band, choreographer, songwriter, composer, producer, singer, and backup vocalist.
In reality, you are all of these things. You are P-SQUARE’s Author and Finisher! Rather than the 99% you claim, I actually demolish you 100% of everything.
‘I’m sorry for not getting back to you sooner when you claimed in a tweet in April 2015 that you composed and performed every song on P-SQUARE.
For the purpose of maintaining peace, I disregarded the advice of family and friends and I am now paying a heavy price for having pals.
I would like to know if Rudeboy or Mr. P are currently more successful and bigger than P-SQUARE.
Are we selling out stadiums and arenas on an individual basis the way P-SQUARE did? As solo artists, are our songs reaching the top of the global music charts? Do we have the same command over crowds and capacity audiences as P-SQUARE?
He wondered why Peter was always making fun of him and attempting to incite his supporters against him.
‘I frequently ask myself, what do you really stand to gain from continuously treating me with contempt and ridiculing me?
You have treated my wife and family with disdain, ignored my ideas and skill, and even supported Jude when it was obvious he was trying to oppress me.
Presently, it It seems like you are trying even harder to make the fans hate me by implying that I’m envious of you, which is taking things a step further.
It’s true that you have been making every effort to incite the fans’ animosity toward me.
They will always despise us both because we let them down and let them down, not because they hate me.
‘Now that you’re happy, hopefully.’ My true wishes are for the best for you, my friend! Those that visit my page to leave harsh comments and buy into these lies and false narratives,
I sympathize with them as they have been misinformed about the truth for a long time.
‘Please give me space to concentrate and work quietly on my music.’
‘I will speak about the EFCC issue Before today’s end, complete it. Pay attention! Calm.’
With each brother pursuing a separate career as Rudeboy or Mr. P, the brothers have been at odds since their previous breakup.
While sending his best wishes to Paul, Peter hoped that by cooperating, they could take back the title of Africa’s best music group.
