Justice Office Holders Salaries and Allowances Bill is now a law after being signed by President Bola Tinubu.
In a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, Senator Basheer Lado, the Special Advisor to the President on Senate Matters, revealed this.
A bill granting federal and state judicial personnel a 300 percent pay rise was approved by the National Assembly in June.
This came about as a result of the executive law that the President had sent to be considered and adopted. The bill aimed to provide judicial officers and employees with better pay and benefits, including allowances.

The President’s executive bill was named ‘A Bill for an Act to Prescribe the Salaries, Allowances and Fringe Benefits of Judicial Office Holders in Nigeria and for Other Purposes.’ Associated Subjects.
‘This extraordinary move underscores Mr. President’s absolute prioritization of the welfare of Nigerian workers above all else,’ claims Lado.
‘He did the same when he recently put an ongoing Federal Executive Council meeting on hold to assent to the new National Minimum Wage Bill of N70,000, among other things.’
According to Lado, the newly enacted Act ‘prescribes salaries, allowances, etc., for Judicial Officers to reflect the changing realities and, consequently, amends the Certain Political,
Public and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.), Act, No.6, 2002 (as amended) to delete the provisions pertaining to Judicial Office Holders.’

According to The Viztadaily News, Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola of Nigeria received a yearly salary of N64 million after the bill was passed.
There would be a compensation of N61.4 million for each Justice of the Supreme Court and N62.4 million for the President of the Court of Appeal.
All of the leaders of the several courts, including the President of the National Industrial Court, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, and the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, would receive the same annual base wage of N7.9 million.
