Nigerian drivers now have the option of purchasing petrol at N1,000 per liter or Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), which is less expensive at N200 per standard cubic meter, according to President Bola Tinubu.
The Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company, or NIPCO, executives met with the president on Tuesday at State House in Abuja to make this statement.
The price of gasoline for Nigerian drivers is N1,000 per liter, or N200 for each standard cubic meter.
Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga cited Tinubu as saying, “We have also introduced incentives for commercial motorists to convert from petrol to gas” at no cost.
Tinubu stated during the meeting that NIPCO is a vital component in promoting the use of CNG as an alternative fuel.
Additionally, he underlined the importance of CNG adoption in lowering the country’s dependency on gasoline and lowering consumer fuel prices.
