Reflecting on his work with Kefee, a pivotal figure in the Nigerian music scene during the 2000s, Timaya described the experience as profound.
He noted Kifi’s exceptional talent and remarked on the ethereal quality of her voice, stating, ‘She was a natural talent with a voice like an angel.’
This sentiment was exemplified during the recording of their acclaimed duet ‘Kokoroko,’ featured on her album ‘Part of Me.’

In 2021, Timaya achieved significant commercial success with the track ‘Cold Outside,’ featuring BNXN.
He recounted the genesis of this collaboration, which stemmed from a casual conversation with BNXN, formerly known as Buju. The phrase ‘It’s so cold outside’ sparked immediate creativity, prompting Timaya to head to the studio.
Upon his return, he found BNXN had already recorded the track, illustrating the synergy between the artists. This collaboration, produced by Yung Willis, exemplifies the innovative spirit prevalent in contemporary Nigerian music.
