In Abuja, Nigeria, President Bola Tinubu has directed Mr. ‘The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has announced that Mamman Ahmadu will be leaving his position as Director-General and Chief Executive Officer.’
The directive, contained in a letter dated August 15, 2023, and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, instructed Ahmadu to step down within 24 hours,

No official reason was provided for the Presidentâs decision, but sources within the Presidency hinted at concerns over alleged irregularities and procurement malpractices within the BPP under Ahmaduâs leadership.
An internal audit report had reportedly uncovered several anomalies in the procurement processes, including inflated contracts, favoritism, and a lack of due diligence.
The BPP is responsible for regulating public procurement in Nigeria, ensuring transparency, accountability, and value for money in government spending. It is mandated to prevent corruption and promote competition in procurement processes.
Ahmaduâs resignation is expected to pave the way for a thorough investigation into the allegations against the BPP and to restore public confidence in the institution.
The Presidency has not yet appointed a successor to Ahmadu.
According to the statement, he is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Nigerian Chartered Institute of Taxation.’
Ngelale claims that Gbeleyi is also a graduate of the esteemed Lagos Business School, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and London Business School’s executive programs.
According to him, Gbeleyi has worked in a variety of industries after receiving his degree, including manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, commercial and investment banking, project finance, infrastructure, telecommunications, and public administration.
