Following a midnight fire incident in the Owode-Yewa village, which is located in the Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State, a 27-year-old man named Tolu Falansa died in his apartment.
Viztadaily News the incident happened on July 28, 2024, at around five o’clock in the morning, according to a police source who was briefed on the details and who desired to remain anonymous since they lacked the ability to comment on behalf of the command.
In a room full of smoke, Falansa, who supposedly kept his motorcycle inside the room where he slept, was discovered dead next to the vehicle.

Only a resident going by Kafaya told the police that they were unaware of the occurrence until other individuals showed there looking for the deceased.
‘We weren’t aware of Up until two lads arrived to search for Falansa, something similar had occurred. When they inquired about Kafaya’s whereabouts, I gestured toward his apartment,’ she stated.
PUNCHY The people who had come back to tell Kafaya that Falansa had died from smoke inhalation at his apartment told Metro that she was shocked.

Odutola Omolola, a spokesman for the Ogun State Police Command, told Viztadaily News Metro on Sunday that the incidence had been verified and that the body had been transported to the Ilaro morgue.
According to Odutola, one of the neighbors reported the incident to the Owode-Yewa Police Division on July 28, 2024, at around seven in the morning.
The motorcycle he kept in his room had burned as his men were responding to the incident. A dead body was laying within the same.
