President Bola Tinubu left Abuja for Lagos on Saturday in advance of his administration’s year anniversary on May 29, 2024, to start commissioning project inauguration that had been finished under his watch.
In a statement released in Lagos on Sunday, his special adviser on media and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that the president will officially open the concrete-paved route leading to the country’s two main ports, Apapa and Tin Can Island.

He claimed that the Dangote Group used their tax credits to finance the reconstruction of the road, which started during the administration of Muhammadu Buhari.
Onanuga stated that President Tinubu will formally open the renovated Third Mainland on the same day through virtual methods.

Additionally, he would essentially commission the renovation of 330 bridges and highways nationwide.
‘The President’s engagements on Sunday will culminate in the inauguration of the iconic Lagos-Calabar Superhighway, which is projected to cost approximately N15 trillion,’ the spokesperson stated.
The legacy project, which will link nine coastal states, has commenced construction, with Hitech Construction Limited already having been granted Section Two.
‘On Tuesday, President Tinubu will make his way back to Abuja to start a new round of commissioning.
First, he will dedicate the Southern Parkway, which was named in his honor by the FCT Administration led by Nyesom Wike.
The President will open the National Assembly Complex on Wednesday following his participation in the National Assembly Dialogue Series. borne in his honor.
‘In order to resume the commercialization of Abuja Light Rail, also referred to as Abuja Metro, President Tinubu would adjourn the National Assembly. He will figuratively board a train and travel to the city’s center.
Onanuga added that the Buhari administration finished building the Abuja Metro in 2018. Up to 2020, it was used for business purposes.
However, the train service was discontinued after COVID-19 struck. The building was overrun by vandals, rendering it unusable.
He said that Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, had renovated it for commercial use after investing $15 million to build access roads to the various stations.
‘President Tinubu will also open the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) headquarters and the Wuye Flyover-Link Bridge following the train journey.
The NASENI-Portland Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Reverse Engineering Center in Utako will be officially opened by President Tinubu on Friday, May 31st, he continued.
