In Awka, Anambra State, south-east Nigeria, the Children, Sexual, and Gender-Based Violence Court arrested a 37-year-old man named Chinonso Nwaiwu on Tuesday for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.

The accused is charged with three counts of exploitation, inflicting bodily harm, and engaging in illicit sexual relations.
But he entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.
The defendant committed the offenses on November 16 at Plastic Estate, Oba, according to the prosecutor, C.R. Akara.
Section 4(1) of the Aggression Against Individuals Prohibition Law of Anambra 2017 and the 35th section of the Child’s Responsibilities Law of Anambra, 2004 were violated, as stated by Ms. Akara.
Peace Otti, the trial judge, mandated that the complainant sho placed under remand in prison.
The case was postponed by the judge until June 14th.
