A MAN ARRESTED IN RIVERS FOR FATALLY RAPING THE PREGNANT WIFE OF A PASTOR.

A man only known as Emeka has been taken into custody by Rivers State Police Command officers after he is accused of killing a cleric’s wife in Rivers State by raping.


Men from the state command’s Ahoada Divisional Police Headquarters captured the suspect in the Abarikpo Community.

On February 12, 2023, in the Abarikpo village, Mrs. Steward, a mother of two, was allegedly raped by a gang. Emeka is thought to be the mastermind behind this crime.


The suspect’s detention was confirmed by Mr. Lawyer Steward, the late pregnant woman’s husband and assistant pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Abarikpo.

The suspect’s 15-month arrest history was revealed by the steward. subsequently after planning his wife’s rape and murder, claiming that Emeka had arguments with her prior to the terrible event.

‘Yes, Mr. Emeka, he is the mastermind behind my wife’s death,’ he stated. He said that my wife had called him a terrible man after they had argued that morning.

‘You labeled me a wicked man? He told my wife. Today you will witness depravity. On Sunday, February 12, 2023, at around one in the morning, the terrible fellows broke down my door and took my wife.

‘My wife was five months pregnant when they raped her and killed her by strangulation. Emeka, police detained him on Thursday of last week. He is currently in police detention. I visited that place. to make a declaration. I want the government to step in and ensure that justice is done.
Recall that last year, Steward told reporters that he believed members of an Icelandic cult had kidnapped his wife from his home in the Abarikpo hamlet and carried her to their lair, where they had gang-raped her to death.

He revealed that his wife’s body, covered in bruises and vaginal bleeding, was found near a fishing pond many hours after she was kidnapped.
However, rumors circulated that Mrs. Chigbewejim Steward was a strong advocate against cult and criminal activity in the Abarikpo village up to her death.

At the time of publication, Grace Iringe-Koko, a superintendent of police, was the police command’s spokesperson. could not verify the information, but a state-level senior police officer who was informed of the development claimed that Emeka had been arrested along with two other suspects.
