Applications for BMT are now being accepted by the NAF for airmen and women.

Applying now for the 2024 airmen and airwomen basic military training course is open to qualified Nigerians, according to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Bakari of the Chief of Air Staff stated in a statement on Wednesday that candidates should only submit one online application as repeated submissions will be rejected.

Bakari advised printing the acknowledgment form, the consent form from parents or guardians, and the local government attestation form following completion of the online application.

He suggested that a military officer or the head of the local administration should sign the documents.

As to the statement, candidates must be citizens of Nigeria by birth and have either a BVN or National Identity Card (NIN).

The minimum height requirements for applicants are 1.66 meters for men and 1.63 meters for women.

‘Candidates must be physically, fit both mentally and physically. The candidates should not have had any prior criminal convictions from a court of law.

The speaker stated that individuals who are not craftsmen or ladies must be between the ages of 18 and 22. Those who were born prior to September 20, 2003 are not eligible.

According to him, candidates need to have earned at least five credits in WAEC, NECO, GCE, and NABTEB, including English and mathematics, in no more than two sittings.

Those who were born before September 20, 2000, are ineligible, he stated, adding that tradesmen and women must be between the ages of 18 and 25.

According to Bakari, candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 28 to be considered for positions as chaplains, imam assistants, drivers, or mechanics.

Candidates who were born with the aforementioned places not eligible if they were born before September 20, 1997.

‘Applicants with ND/NCE must have at least lower credit from recognized universities and must have earned at least five credits in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB in no more than two (2) sittings, including English and Mathematics,’ the statement read.

According to the air vice marshal, candidates must have trade test certifications if they are applying for jobs in construction technology, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, mechanic, driving, painting, and other trades.

Also, they must have at least two passes in the English language component of the WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB.

A valid practicing license and an ND from accredited Nigerian colleges are prerequisites for admission to career paths related to medicine.

Applications in sports must include certifications and awards as proof of experience.

From August 21 until October 2, 2024, people can register online. Commencing on October 8, 2024, is the general aptitude exam for zonal recruitment.

According to him, there are no costs associated with any of the NAF’s registration or hiring procedures, and there is never a need for payment.
