FG has removed registration for buying a 50-kg rice bag N40k

The order requiring federal officials to register in order to purchase a 50-kg bag of rice at a discounted price of N40,000 has been repealed by the Federal Government (FG).

The Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs’ Director of Human Resources, Aderonke Jaiyesimi, announced this decision in a recent circular.

All directors and department heads received the notice, which was dated August 2, 2024, and that our correspondent was able to obtain on Thursday.

In her statement, Jaiyesimi said, ‘and have been ordered to refer to our internal circular in the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs on the person being investigated in the in the matter mentioned above.

from late August 2024 and to inform you that the internal circular is hereby withdrawn.’

Kindly notify the personnel in your departments and units about the contents of this internal circular so they can receive appropriate guidance and information.

Previous instructions from the ministry for public servants who were interested in buying the subsidized rice were to register by filling out a Google form on the OHCSF website and sending it to the director of human resources for approval.

In order to maintain openness, payment and distribution were to be handled by specific offices, under the supervision of the ministry’s chairman of the Joint Union Council.

The Tinubu administration implemented a number of initiatives to improve the living conditions of its constituents, this one among them.

Nigerians can now access centers around the country, according to a recent announcement by the Federal Government.

Muhammad Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, claims that 50 kg of rice can be purchased for N40,000.
