Omobayo Godwin, an engineer who is 38 years old, has been named by Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki as his new deputy.

This happened not long after the former deputy governor Philip Shaibu was impeached on Monday by the state House of Assembly.
Shuaibu was fired for disclosing information about the state government, according to the panel established for the former deputy governor’s impeachment proceedings.

Omobayo was born on July 19, 1986, and is a native of the state’s Akoko Edo Local Government Area.
He graduated from the University of Benin with a B.Eng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and an MSc in Public Administration.
He holds a membership in both the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Council for the Regulation of Engineering.
He obtained experience in the South-South operations, providing exceptional services and growing the company’s clients while working as a Senior Maintenance Engineer at Dresser Wayne West Africa Limited prior to his most recent assignment.
