The Boeing 777-333 (ER) aircraft, which was carrying nearly 400 passengers on an Air Canada airplane, caught fire, making Boeing’s top dogs very uncomfortable.
The horrific scene was documented on camera on June 5, shortly after the aircraft’s engine caught fire shortly after takeoff from Toronto Pearson International Airport. @fl360aero posted the video on X.
The aircraft was successfully turned around, and the pilots made an emergency landing.

The Boeing 777 ran into problems shortly after taking off for Paris, according to CTV News. AC872 Flight left about 8:45 p.m., but owing to what they described as a ‘engine issue,’ they had to return by 9:50pm.
The plane is seen in the airport video shooting stunning sparks as it takes off into the sky. One of the workers can be heard saying, ‘Holy crap! There is an engine fire!
According to Vizta Daily News, Air Canada eventually verified that 389 people were on board at the time of the incident.
Concern over the video inundated social media. ‘I’ve always said GE engines have problems,’ a user commented. An additional user said, ‘OMG! That is unsettling. ‘Imagine being seated near the wing and you’re just looking down at the runway and boom,’ a third person commented.
This incident is the most recent in a concerning string of of recent accidents involving Boeing airplanes. Not too many weeks prior, a same engine fire forced a Garuda Indonesia Boeing 747-400 to make an unscheduled landing.
