Kenneth Okonkwo has departed from the Labour Party and Peter Obi.

Just in: Kenneth Okonkwo has departed from the Labour Party and Peter Obi.

Kenneth Okonkwo, a prominent Nigerian actor and politician, has announced his resignation from the Labour Party and has decided to sever ties with Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate.

This move could have implications for both Okonkwo’s political career and the Labour Party as they navigate the political landscape.

If you would like more information or insights on this situation, feel free to ask!

Political links between the Labour Party and its 2023 presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, have been cut by former spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo for the party.

On July 27, 2024, Okonkwo, a lawyer and renowned Nollywood actor, took the decision in reaction to ‘the candidate’s inability to address growing internal issues between himself and the Labour Party’.

The statement made by Okonkwo was shared on social media.

Okonkwo claimed he was no longer confident that Obi could win the next general elections and unite the party.

He scolded Obi for not using his authority to address the party’s enduring issues following the 2023 elections.

Okonkwo came to the conclusion that Obi had not been able to establish a solid foundation that would allow him to challenge the verdict All the Progressives Congress (APC) during the elections of 2027.

‘I am determined to take a different path in my political career as a result of what is occurring in the Labour Party right now.

Like myself, many Nigerians had great expectations for the Labour Party during the general election of 2023.

I thought Peter Obi would take the initiative and establish a strong, morally-based party that would provide us with the necessary support to topple these kleptocrats and kakistocrats. He only needed to issue the appropriate instructions, and everyone would comply.

The first thing that shocked me was when he openly stated that he had promised Nigerians not only the solution to their issues but also the creation of a powerful Labour Party.

I thought, Does that imply that Peter Obi is HE? Not conscious of the fact that we are going nowhere in politics without a strong party foundation?

To no use, he said, ‘I continued to defend him nonetheless, thinking he would still privately bring the needed solution to LP problems.’

The speaker went on, ‘Peter Obi also openly urged that the National Working Committee,

chaired by Abure, organize an inclusive convention that will ensure that every Labour Party member has a say in choosing their leaders.

Surprisingly, Peter Obi refused to distance himself from the mischievous and illegal actions of the erstwhile NWC even after their time had run out.

This didn’t happen.

Because Peter Obi hasn’t shown any leadership over the party, every Labour Party member is uncertain about the party’s future.

Sadly, I have nothing to offer them because I don’t understand myself while they look to me to inform them about Peter Obi’s point of view.

I am unable to carry on speaking for a leader whose position on matters of significant importance I am ignorant of. I really don’t know how to bend the truth.

‘I find it shocking that Peter Obi was unable to publicly acknowledge the admirable efforts of the labor unions that formed the Labour Party as a foundation to fight for worker welfare,

to the point that some of them have publicly declared that Peter Obi is now Labour Party problem.

Currently, the unpleasant scenario facing labor unions is that they are battling criminals who want to take over their party when an A simple declaration from the PO would have provided the answer.

I can’t carry on feeling this way forever. Naturally, I fully support the labor unions and other interested parties who are now obliged to defend Labour Party’s integrity without Peter Obi’s backing.

But the result is that I am no longer certain that Peter Obi can create a party that can defeat these kleptocrats and kakistocrats;

moreover, he has demonstrated that he lacks the necessary skills to obtain the mandate even in the event that he receives the support of the electorate.

I don’t plan to run a campaign like we did in 2023, portraying a candidate who, even in triumph, cannot maintain the victory.

For this reason, I have made the decision to carry on with my political career without Peter Obi, striving to build the great Nigeria of our dreams.

The comment partially attributed to Okonkwo said, ‘I am always 100% loyal to a leader whenever I am.’

Exploring After-Marriage Night Romance: Embracing the Magic of Newlywed

The night following a wedding is often described as a special and intimate time, filled with anticipation, excitement, and, of course, romance. For many couples, it marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, both emotionally and physically. After all the planning, the celebration, and the ceremonies, the after-marriage night romance is a moment where two people who have pledged their lives to each other can finally be alone together in a more personal and relaxed setting.

While enjoying coffee, my friend and I engaged in a conversation about our wedding night experiences. We were thinking back to our first night together, when we truly had no idea what we were getting into, even though we had both been married for a few years.

My friend Ashley, like many of us, had an idea of how she wanted her wedding night to look when she became engaged. She wanted to look flawless on the big day, change into her special wedding night lace, throw open the door, lean against the wall, and exude sexiness all at once. Then she saw her new husband erupting in passion as they carelessly gave each other the best hugs and experiences imaginable.

Sadly, that isn’t exactly how my friend’s experience unfolded. After eighteen hours in a forty-pound wedding dress, she didn’t feel well when she arrived at the hotel room.

She was sweating profusely, her bangs were stuck to her forehead, and the water was too hot.

1. Setting the Scene: ‘Creating the Perfect Atmosphere’

The environment you choose for your after-marriage night can significantly influence the experience. A few thoughtful touches can transform an ordinary room into a romantic sanctuary. Consider these ideas:

  • Lighting: Soft, ‘dim lighting can create an intimate atmosphere’. Candles, fairy lights, or even a low lamp can set the mood.
  • Music: A playlist of your favorite love songs or soothing background music can enhance the ambiance.
  • Decor: Fresh flowers, silk sheets, and a clean, cozy space can make the night feel special.

2. Emotional Connection: The Importance of Communication

Before diving into physical intimacy, it’s essential to nurture the emotional bond between you and your partner. After a whirlwind wedding day, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or exhausted. Take time to reconnect and communicate openly about your feelings, expectations, and any apprehensions you might have.

Read: Touching Good Morning Messages to Brighten Your Loved One's Day
  • Talk: Share your thoughts and feelings about the wedding and your future together. This can help both partners feel more connected and relaxed.
  • Affection: Gentle touches, hugs, and kisses can enhance emotional intimacy and help both of you unwind from the day’s excitement.

3. Physical Intimacy: Understanding and Patience

The first night together can be a mix of excitement and nervousness. It’s crucial to approach physical intimacy with patience and understanding.

  • Take It Slow: There’s no need to rush. Take your time exploring each other’s comfort zones and desires.
  • Be Attentive: Pay attention to your partner’s reactions and communicate openly about what feels good and what doesn’t.
  • Enjoy the Moment: Focus on the connection and enjoyment of each other’s company rather than any specific goals or expectations.

4. Managing Expectations: Realistic Views

Exploring After-Marriage Night Romance: Embracing the Magic of Newlywed

The after-marriage night is often depicted in a romanticized manner, but it’s important to have realistic expectations. For many couples, it may not be as perfect as imagined, and that’s perfectly okay.

  • Adjust Expectations: Understand that the night may be a bit chaotic or not as planned, and that’s a normal part of the experience.
  • Embrace Imperfections: If things don’t go as planned, laugh it off and enjoy each other’s company. The key is the connection and the shared experience.

5. Celebrating Your Union: Creating Lasting Memories

The after-marriage night is not just about physical intimacy; it’s about celebrating the start of your journey together. Here are some ways to make the night memorable:

  • Special Touches: Write a love note or create a small gift for each other to exchange on your first night as a married couple.
  • Future Planning: Discuss your dreams and plans for the future. This can be a time to set goals and talk about the life you envision together.
  • Reflect: Share your favorite moments from the wedding day and express your gratitude and love for each other.

6. Post-Wedding Bliss: Building on the Experience

The after-marriage night is just the beginning of your journey together. Use this experience as a foundation to build a deeper connection.

When she initially put on the lace, it was incredibly itchy and nearly hard to put on because she was perspiring and sticky. She swung the door open since she didn't feel flawless, but it impacted her spouse's knee. It felt awkward when they eventually gave each other a hug.

They were going too quickly and too slowly together, and nothing looked very romantic. They also didn’t know how to move together. That night of her wedding, Ashley found herself sobbing while perched on the edge of the bed! “I wasn’t expecting this!”

  • Continue the Romance: Keep the romance alive by planning regular date nights, surprises, and meaningful gestures.
  • Stay Connected: Make it a priority to maintain open lines of communication and emotional intimacy throughout your marriage.
  • Support Each Other: Marriage is a partnership. Support each other’s needs, desires, and dreams to foster a loving and fulfilling relationship.

Conclusion

The after-marriage night is a unique and cherished experience for newlyweds. It’s a time to celebrate your love, reconnect on a deeper level, and set the stage for your future together. By creating a romantic atmosphere, communicating openly, managing expectations, and embracing the moment, you can make the night memorable and set a positive tone for your life as a married couple.

Never forget that the love and connection you share is what matters most, not perfection. As you embark on this new chapter, cherish these intimate moments and continue to nurture the romance and bond that brought you together.

The All Progressives Congress has advised protest organizers to halt their campaign to have President Bola Tinubu annul the 1999 Constitution.

Speaking in Abuja subsequent to a private meeting with the Forum of APC State Chairmen to deliberate on the details of the suggested demonstration, the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru,

declared that the renewed calls for the President to renounce the constitution he has pledged to defend would be an impossibility.

As stated by Senator Basiru, President Tinubu does not have the authority to repeal or change the 1999 Constitution in any way.

According to Senator Basiru, the National Working Committee of the party met and discussed the fifteen demands outlined by the protest organizers.

Based on an intellectual analysis, the committee found that the majority of the issues raised in the charter are not appropriate for protest as they involve politics and constitutional amendments.

IGP Tells Protesters To Turn in Your Names and Details To The Police

Police officials have asked for the demonstrators’ personal information ahead of the August 1 nationwide protest.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, particularly requested that all organizations scheduled to take part in the Protests to turn up their information to the state police commissioners.

His explanation was that it was a nonviolent protest.

‘We recognize that peaceful assembly and protest are constitutional rights of Nigerian citizens,’ the head of police declared.

In the interest of maintaining public safety and order, we do, however, strongly advise any groups organizing protests to send the relevant information to the state’s commissioner of police.

Could they kindly supply the following details to help ensure a peaceful and successful protest?

These include the names and contact details of the protest leaders and organizers, the anticipated duration of the protest, and the suggested protest routes and assembly places.

Further, the Inspector General stated that the data anticipated from the coordinators also contains safeguards against criminals taking advantage of it and important indicators that may be used to isolate possible troublemakers.

The IGP stated that the police authorities required the information in order to identify possible troublemakers, since they were concerned that criminal elements would use the protest.

In order to prevent conflicts with other events or activities, he stated that the Force must be aware of the precise routes and locations for the demonstration.

He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to allocating sufficient manpower and resources to maintain public safety.

The demonstrators were also given additional instructions by the IGP, which included the following:

‘create clear lines of communication with protest leaders to address any concerns or issues that may arise;’

reduce the possibility of criminal behavior, violence, and the destruction of property.

‘To ensure a safe and effective exercise of their rights, we encourage all protestors to cooperate with the police,

obey the law, and abide by international best practices for peaceful assembly.’

Not a Single Love For Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu commented on the planned nationwide protests on Thursday, claiming that those who are funding them do not love their nation.

He claimed that individuals supporting the protests have alternate passports and attend meetings almost anywhere in the world, but he did not name the sponsor.

‘Protest organizers do not cherish our nation. They are indifferent to the country. Citizenship is beyond their comprehension.

Speaking to a group of Islamic leaders headed by Sheikh Bala Lau in the Presidential Villa, Tinubu stated, ‘They have other passports.’

‘They are holding virtual meetings while located in various parts of the world. Our goal is not to make Nigeria become Sudan.

Not funerals, but starvation is the topic at hand. We need to exercise caution. When it comes to politics of hate and rage, we should exercise caution.

‘Holding meetings in simulated environments is now feasible thanks to the internet. In a statement, the President’s spokesperson,

Ajuri Ngelale, cited the President as saying, ‘They hold meetings and sponsor anger.’

President Tinubu contended that demonstrations fueled by resentment and hatred have the potential to turn violent and take the nation backward.

Change of Regime

Earlier, security services asked Nigerians to put off activities that could jeopardize national security and issued a warning against planned protests.

The Department of State Services (DSS) is the organization in charge. said it had identified the sponsors in a statement released on Thursday.

The government asserted that certain components intended to abuse the right of citizens to demonstrate, even though it acknowledged this right.

The plotters’ goal is to defame the federal and subnational administrations, make them unpopular,
and set them against the people, according to a statement, released by their spokesperson,

Peter Afunanya. The planned violent conclusion is designed to accomplish this goal.

‘Achieving a regime change, particularly at the Center, is the ultimate goal.’

With the withdrawal of gasoline subsidies and the floating of the naira, two policies that have led to an increase in the cost of living in Nigeria,

calls for the #EndBadGovernance protest have gained traction on social media.

NBS, the National Bureau of Statistics, claims that A large number of Nigerians are unable to afford the cost of necessities due to the current 34% inflation rate.

As part of his desperate attempts to put an end to the demonstration, President Tinubu has been engaging with various stakeholders, including traditional rulers.

In order to ensure that the reforms implemented by his administration will ultimately be beneficial, he is pleading with the organizers to exercise patience with his government as it attempts to tackle Nigeria’s problems.

Sextortion has been a problem for many years. It is the practice of blackmailing someone into giving up money in exchange for them not disclosing private photos and videos.

Sextortion and sextortion schemes are occasionally carried out by individuals who know the target, but most of the time, cybercriminals who have no are at fault based on their relationship to the victim.

Furthermore, Meta removed almost 7,200 assets, all of which were headquartered in Nigeria and included 1,300 Facebook profiles, 200 Facebook Pages, and 5,700 Facebook Groups.

These accounts offered entire directions, scripts, and training for pulling off scams.

Nigeria continues to battle its image as a hotbed of internet-based fraud (the public still remembers the ‘Nigerian Prince’ email hoax), and there are reports that some citizens are duped into becoming con artists by means of wealthy-seeking ‘classes’ and schemes.

In an effort to better serve Nigerians, President Tinubu promised that his administration would take greater action.

It is accurate to say that I requested this position and asked some of you for help.

As such, I have no justification for not completing the task honestly and with a sincere intention. I have made a sincere commitment to it, and I promise not to turn back.

‘I assume the possessions and debts that came with my predecessor. My worry should be how I would lead Nigeria ahead, and that is what concerns me.

My schedule has been really hectic. The only physical activity I’ve done here is walk from my house to this location and back to finish my work.

Nigeria is the largest democracy in Africa and a hilly country. When it comes to population on the continent, no other democracy compares to us.

The president remarked, ‘We must pursue peace and better livelihoods; we cannot blame God for giving us these children.’

According to President Tinubu, the initiatives to bring the government closer to the people are starting to show results, as seen by the launch of the student loan program,

The Ambassador acknowledged Tinubu’s stance,

highlighting the United States’ support for peaceful democratic processes and the need for constructive engagement between citizens and their government.

Tinubu further elaborated that while the government respects the right to assemble, it also holds the responsibility to safeguard the nation’s peace.

‘We must work together to foster a culture of respect and understanding, where protests serve as a platform for constructive dialogue rather than division,’ he noted.

Tinubu’s appeal for peaceful protests resonates deeply within the context of Nigeria’s current socio-political climate,

where the call for change often intersects with the challenges of governance and security.

He urged citizens to engage in dialogue that fosters unity rather than division,

emphasizing that the strength of a democracy is measured not only by the freedom to protest but also by the ability to engage constructively with differing opinions.

‘The government is not an adversary but a partner in progress,’ Tinubu remarked,

encouraging citizens to view their leaders as allies in the quest for a better society.

He acknowledged the frustrations that many Nigerians feel regarding pressing issues such as economic hardship,

corruption, and inadequate public services.

However, he insisted that addressing these concerns should be done through peaceful means that do not jeopardize the safety of others.

The President’s message also included a call for civic responsibility, urging citizens to be mindful of the impact their actions may have on the broader community.

‘We must remember that every protest is not just a reflection of our discontent but also a testament to our commitment to the nation.

Let us channel our energies into building bridges rather than burning them,’ he stated.

In light of this, Tinubu proposed initiatives aimed at enhancing dialogue between the government and civil society groups.

He suggested the establishment of regular forums where citizens could voice their concerns directly to government representatives,

fostering an environment of transparency and accountability. “Dialogue is the cornerstone of democracy.

It is through listening and understanding that we can find common ground and work towards solutions that benefit all,” he added.

As the meeting concluded, both Tinubu and the U.S. Ambassador expressed optimism for a future where peaceful protests can lead to meaningful change.

The Ambassador reiterated the importance of upholding democratic values,

noting that the United States stands ready to support Nigeria in its journey toward a more inclusive and stable society.

With the president’s commitment to peaceful demonstrations and constructive engagement,

there is hope that Nigeria can navigate its challenges while preserving the rights and freedoms of its citizens.
