Emir Sanusi sacking is verified by an official court document.

0

The removal of Kano Emir Sanusi has been officially confirmed through the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Federal High Court’s ruling, signed by the registrar’s office,

indicating that Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi has been removed from his position.

The two sides have been declaring triumph since Justice Muhammadu Liman’s ruling on Thursday, but according to a copy of the CTC that was provided to reporters in Abuja, the court invalidated Emir Sanusi’s reinstatement.

There has been a dispute with the House of Assembly’s revision to the Emirates law in Kano for approximately a month now.

This has impacted the installation of Emir Ado Bayero as the Emir of Kano by the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, following the removal of Sanusi from office as Kano’s emir.

The court ruled that the previous injunction instructing the parties to preserve the status quo is still in effect.

Alhaji Aminu Babba Dangundi, the plaintiff, had sued the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Department of State Services, the Kano State government,

The Speaker of the Kano State Assembly, the Attorney General of Kano State, the Commissioner of Police, and the Inspector General of Police in suit number FHC/KN/CS/ 1382/2024.

In defiance of the directive from ‘this Honourable Court,’ the plaintiff requested for an order declaring the actions of the second and third defendants in enacting the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Law, 2024 to be void.

Additionally, he asked the court to issue an order voiding the 23rd Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Law, 2024’s provisions,

Which allowed the 1st and 4th defendants to appoint Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusl as the 16th Emir of Kano, in violation of the May 23, 22024,court order.

‘That every step taken by the defendants in pursuance of the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) LAW, 2024,

Are hereby annulled and set aside;’ declared Justice Lima following his hearing from the attorneys involved in the case.

Nevertheless, the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) LAW, 2024, which is the focus of the substantive lawsuit, remains lawful notwithstanding this judgment.

‘That the previous directive parties to uphold the status quo,’ the ante is still in place.

Police justification for disobeying the government’s order

AIG Usaini Gumel, the state commissioner of police for Kano, has provided justifications for defying Governor Yusuf’s order to remove Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th emir of Kano, from his tiny castle in Nassarawa.

Governor Yusuf gave the CP instructions on Thursday night to take Bayero out of the Nassarawa tiny palace where he is now living through the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Haruna Dederi.

In a Friday interview in Kano, the commissioner of police stated that complying with the governor’s order of removal would be equivalent to ‘jumping the gun.’

He said that the State High Court had received a complaint from the same government that issued the directive regarding the eviction judgment that is scheduled on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Because the government has filed a case at the State High Court against the eviction order, which is scheduled to be heard on Monday, June 24, 2024, the police will not be evicting Bayero.

‘The government is acting prematurely as they have already filed a case over the eviction order, which is scheduled for June 24, 2024.

Because we don’t know what will happen in court, if we follow the order, it will be as though we are preempting the court, he said.

Meanwhile, Aminu Ado Bayero’s current residence, the Nassarawa tiny palace, has increased protection.

According to our reporter, who went to the mini palace just prior to the Juma’at prayer, there were rumors that additional security guards had been sent there in addition to those on the ground.

As the police had not yet removed Bayero as instructed by Governor Yusuf,

it was noted that all four major approaches leading to the tiny palace had been blocked off by security personnel.

Our correspondent was informed by one of Bayero’s followers, who wished to remain anonymous,

that Bayero was still in the small palace getting ‘traditional greetings’ from some of the traditional rulers who were devoted to him.

As I speak with you, Emir Aminu Ado Bayero is still in the miniature palace and is getting the ‘traditional greetings’ from those devoted to him, according to the source.

He refuted the reports circulating in some circles that the palace had a bulldozer positioned there in preparation for its demolition.

‘I’ve heard rumors that a bulldozer has been positioned near the Nassarawa small palace in preparation for its demolition in some places.

The insider continued, ‘This is propaganda from social media.

Why Gov. Alia will receive a stress-free second term – Gemade (2nd)

Senator Barnabas Gemade, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),

Said that Benue state governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia would win a second term in 2027 ‘without much stress.’

Speaking to APC supporters in Vandeikya, Gemade based his confidence on Alia’s accomplishments.

At the moment, the governor is on a ‘Thank you’ tour of the municipal governments of Konshisha and Vandiekya.

Gemade stated that the administration of Alia had done a great job over the past year and that the Jechira people, in particular, as well as the Benue people in general, were firmly in support of it.

‘Aper Aku, who was ranked first previously, is competing with Alia, whose scorecard is better than any governor in Benue,’ he stated.

Gov. Alia bemoaned the state’s lack of development in his speech, claiming that previous governments had failed to advance it.

He said that the state’s dramatic change was divinely ordained and meant to bring back the once-gloryful state.

‘Benue was transported back 40 years ago, a long time ago. Great heroes intervened while continuing to do their pieces and release the individuals.

God wants you to work with a select group of governors who have shown a deep love for both their state and humanity, and this is one of the reasons for it.

‘In order to ensure that our children grow up to be extremely successful and forward-thinking, we need to restore development and put them back on the pedestal that belongs in the classroom.

‘The work we have completed in the past year to renovate schools, hospitals, build roads, and provide electricity, among many other things, is just the tip of the iceberg,’ he remarked.

For ‘his laudable initiatives aimed at putting the country back on the fast lane of development,’ President Bola Tinubu received praise from Alia.

He claimed that these aspirational initiatives were aimed toward:

‘He said that these grandiose initiatives also aimed to better the lives of the hordes of young people without jobs, enabling them to become employers of labor and economically viable. (NANO)

ATLANTA (AP) The 38 dogs were tired and fighting for their lives when fishermen noticed the first head floating above the water.

While hunting foxes, the hound dogs became sidetracked and dove into a sizable Mississippi lake. Bob Gist realized they had no chance as he went fishing on the lake.

‘The Mississippi River is swimmable by deer, and, on Friday, he recalled, ‘Dogs are not going to catch a deer in the water.’

Gist and the others understood that they would not survive either unless immediate action was taken.

The insurance agent from Jonesboro, Arkansas, drove their tiny boat over with a guide named Jordan Chrestman and a friend named Brad Carlisle.

Dogs were present everywhere, according to Gist. ‘They didn’t know which way to go and were kind of swimming in circles.’

The three men began snatching up any dogs they could while the terrified owners of the dogs watched from the shore.

Three trips to shore were necessary since there were too many to accommodate on the bass boat.

Carlisle is seen standing and smiling in mirrored sunglasses in a picture that Gist snapped during the rescue,

with an additional Six of the hound dogs were seated on the bow. They have numbers painted on their sides from the fox chase.

Two of the other canines are standing calmly behind the seats, staring ahead as Chrestman stands next to them, steering.

Gist declared, ‘Jordan is the hero here,’ noting that the guide had quickly hurried the boat over after recognizing the danger.

‘If Jordan hadn’t been it, it would have resulted in 38 dogs dying.

By then, the dogs had likely spent fifteen or twenty minutes in the water, according to Gist.

The men had to put their heads out of the water to reach for some of them because they were so exhausted. After that, each dog was thrown aboard.

According to Gist, the survivors had been in the water for 45 to an hour before the last of them were rescued.

According to Chris Gurner, a natural resource expert with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,

which patrols Grenada Lake, dogs can ‘follow game relentlessly, as in this case,’ especially when hunting, but he noted that it is uncommon for them to get so far from shore.

Though they were hunting foxes, according to him, it is not uncommon for dogs to chase after any living thing that frightens them.

Gist stated, ‘We always have the chance to assist someone.’ ‘Act when you witness something occasionally.’

NEET Paper Leaks: Exam will not be canceled, according to Minister.

According to NEET Paper Leaks, Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan says thousands of students who legitimately passed the exam would be impacted if it were canceled.

New Delhi: In the face of a blazing scandal and an ongoing inquiry into the paper being leaked a day before the exam, the government has decided not to cancel the medical entrance examination, NEET.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan defended his position by pointing out that the leak only impacted a small number of students,

which was in stark contrast to earlier instances in 2004 and 2015 where larger leaks resulted in the cancelation of exams.

He claimed that thousands of students who legitimately passed the exam would be impacted if it were canceled.

Additionally, he stated that the Supreme Court is considering the matter and that the court’s ruling will be final.

Following a furor when 67 students achieved a perfect score of 720 on the NEET-UG exam,

the National Testing Agency explained that some students had received grace marks because of an incorrect question and a delay in applicants receiving the question paper.

The NTA administered NEET-UG 2024, an examination for undergraduate medical programs,

which drew over 24 lakh students on May 5. On June 4, the findings were made public earlier than expected.

‘Allegations of a question paper leak and awarding grace marks to over 1,500 students sparked controversy.’

This resulted in large-scale demonstrations and legal actions, including cases brought before several courts, most notably the Supreme Court,
which has harshly criticized the NTA’s handling of the situation.

Since only a few candidates from Bihar benefited from the breach, which is thought to be localized, the center has declined to cancel the exam.

In Bihar, an accused student and three others have been taken into custody and are undergoing interrogation.

Mr. Pradhan described the leak of the UGC-NET exam question paper as an ‘institutional failure’ of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and stated that there was no need to cancel the exam,

but the government will form a high-level panel to investigate the agency’s operations.

At a news conference in New Delhi, Mr. Pradhan stated,

‘It is unacceptable to hold hostage the career of the many candidates who have correctly cleared the exam because of some individual instances of misconduct.’

We communicate with the Bihar Police regularly. They are to provide us with a report. We shall determine the next line of action after we obtain it.

All faults in the system will be fixed, and I accept full responsibility.

The minister urged people to have faith in our systems and to remember that the government will not stand for anomalies or wrongdoing.

He also warned the opposition parties not to politicize the matter and threatened to take tough measures against those found guilty, even if they were ‘top’ NTA officials.

While acknowledging concerns about grace marks and stating that they have previously been properly addressed, the Ministry of Education has moved quickly to rectify the matter.

Tension in Kano: Police Response to Governor Yusuf.

0

Governor Yusuf, there is tension as Kano Police responds, ‘We won’t evict Emirati Bayero.’
The state government’s order to expel Aminu Bayero, the deposed 15th Emir of Kano, would not be followed,

according to the Kano police command.

Usain Gumel, the commissioner of police for Kano, stated that the state government is ‘jumping the gun’,

with the eviction order in an interview with Punch on Friday.

Gumel was cited as saying, ‘The same government has filed a case at the state high court on the eviction order,

which would come up on Monday, June 24, 2024. As a result, the police will not evict the deposed Emir.’

The Kano Federal High Court invalidated all of the state government’s activities on Thursday, May 23,

regarding the revocation of the Kano Emirates Council Law of 2019.

The sitting judge, Muhammad Liman, declared that although the defendants were aware of a previous court-issued temporary order, they disregarded it and went ahead with the implementation of the Kano Emirates Council Law 2024.

However, the judge decided that his ruling had no bearing on the legitimacy of the State House of Assembly emirate law.

The governor of Kano, Abba Yusuf, said on May 23 that Kano’s emir is Muhammadu Sanusi.

The governor also gave the order to remove Bayero from his position as Kano’s emir.

Following the court’s decision, Kano Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Haruna Dederi stated that the state had accepted the verdict, stressing that it upheld the legitimacy of the emirate law.

According to Dederi, the government has mandated that a portion of the Bayero palace be demolished.

He continued by saying that the police had been ordered to seize control of the Emir’s palace in Nassarawa LGA.

He stated that ‘to contemplate and take an examination at the nationalistic appointments of the Union together with the Federal and State governments on the greatest way to address all the remaining challenges bedeviling Nigerian Public Universities,’

the members of the Further Development Executive Officers of the ASUU Federal University Dutse met today, Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

He claimed that ASUU had noted that the current administration has consciously He said that since the Union’s founding on May 29, 2023, ASUU has noted that the current administration has willfully disregarded the Union’s leadership.

‘Every attempt made by the Union’s leadership to get the government to call a meeting and hear ASUU’s concerns to resolve the conflicts by the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) collective bargaining principle has been unsuccessful,’ he stated.

According to Ahmed, all of the major concerns raised by ASUU members—university autonomy, funding for the revitalization of Nigerian universities,

and the expansion of public universities—are covered in the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement that was renegotiated.

He continued by saying that all of the contentious points listed in the FGN/ASUU MoU 2012/2013 are among the fundamental problems relating to the condition of service.

With the MoA of 2017, which released three and a half (7) months of the outstanding three and a half (7) months of withheld salary for work that had already been completed,

‘The actual state of affairs should be known to the general public.’

Ahmed revealed that the union would put mechanisms in place to further mobilize its members and educate them for further action over the next three weeks.

‘The union urges all intelligent, well-meaning people to persuade the Nigerian government to address these unresolved matters and arrange a meeting with our union leadership to prevent an unneeded and needless industrial crisis in our academic system, which is already feeble and fragile,’ Ahmed said.
