Emir Sanusi sacking is verified by an official court document.

The removal of Kano Emir Sanusi has been officially confirmed through the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Federal High Court’s ruling, signed by the registrar’s office,

indicating that Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi has been removed from his position.

The two sides have been declaring triumph since Justice Muhammadu Liman’s ruling on Thursday, but according to a copy of the CTC that was provided to reporters in Abuja, the court invalidated Emir Sanusi’s reinstatement.

There has been a dispute with the House of Assembly’s revision to the Emirates law in Kano for approximately a month now.

This has impacted the installation of Emir Ado Bayero as the Emir of Kano by the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, following the removal of Sanusi from office as Kano’s emir.

Alhaji Aminu Babba Dangundi, the plaintiff, had sued the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Department of State Services, the Kano State government,

The Speaker of the Kano State Assembly, the Attorney General of Kano State, the Commissioner of Police, and the Inspector General of Police in suit number FHC/KN/CS/ 1382/2024.

In defiance of the directive from ‘this Honourable Court,’ the plaintiff requested for an order declaring the actions of the second and third defendants in enacting the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Law, 2024 to be void.

Additionally, he asked the court to issue an order voiding the 23rd Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Law, 2024’s provisions,

Which allowed the 1st and 4th defendants to appoint Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusl as the 16th Emir of Kano, in violation of the May 23, 22024,court order.

‘That every step taken by the defendants in pursuance of the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) LAW, 2024,

Are hereby annulled and set aside;’ declared Justice Lima following his hearing from the attorneys involved in the case.

Nevertheless, the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) LAW, 2024, which is the focus of the substantive lawsuit, remains lawful notwithstanding this judgment.

which drew over 24 lakh students on May 5. On June 4, the findings were made public earlier than expected.
