N’Central suspends Ganduje and wants APC chairmanship.

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress was suspended on Sunday by a faction in the Ganduje Ward of the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area in Kano State. This was highlighted on Sunday when North-Central APC stakeholders urged at a news conference in Abuja that the zone be given the party presidency.

N’Central suspends Ganduje and wants APC chairmanship.

The N’Central suspends Ganduje the national chairman

The national chairman was suspended by some party leaders and Ganduje Ward Legal Advisor Haladu Gwanjo, according to a Monday story in The Vizta Daily. The ward leaders said that nine executive officers decided to suspend Ganduje because the Kano State Government had filed a $413,000 bribery prosecution against him individuals in the APC ward.

Following the action swiftly, Ganduje was ordered by the Kano State High Court to refrain from presenting himself as the national chairman of the APC on Wednesday.

However, the ward leaders distanced themselves from Ganduje’s suspension during a visit to the party’s national headquarters, stressing that they had not filed a lawsuit with the Kano State High Court.

They said that the suspension was the result of the state’s government which is governed by the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
On the other hand, the national chairman was granted an injunction by Justice A.M. Liman-presiding Federal High Court in Kano, which placed the Kano State High Court’s order on hold.

Ganduje filed an exparte motion in order to enforce the decision. his inherent right to a fair trial.

However, an opposing group within the Ganduje ward, claiming to be the official executive members, harshly criticized the chairman’s latest suspension in the wee hours of Sunday.

Speaking to reporters in Kano on behalf of 11 other executive members, the faction’s secretary, Ja’afar Ganduje, blamed Ganduje’s purported anti-party actions for the suspension.

The APC national chairman, according to the factional secretary, has not fulfilled his legal obligations to the party.

We, the authorised executive members for the Ganduje ward, have voted against the appointment of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje under a new suspension for a number of reasons,” he declared.

First, Dr. Ganduje’s membership has been suspended for inciting discord among the party at the ward level.
Ganduje’s activities against the party throughout the 2023 presidential election, that ultimately contributed to the party’s collapse in the state, is another major reason why the authentic leadership has agreed to terminate Ganduje.

In a joint statement signed by Ganduje ward Chairman Ahmed Ganduje and Secretary Usaini Jibrin, respectively, the executive members denounced the faction as forgeries.

“New officials who are frauds”

They maintained that they are the legitimate executive members of the APC and insisted that neither the national nor state bodies had held any new elections to select a new leadership.

Additionally, they charged that the Kano State administration, led by the NNPP, was planning another “bunch of non-APC members” to humiliate the country. APC chairman in the capacity of suspension.

“To the best of our knowledge, as executive members of the APC’s Ganduje ward, there was no new election of new leadership of our party,” stated a portion of the message. We are still the ward’s executive.

Through creating a fake or unregistered prepared paper on where they created a list of ineffective party leadership members, the sponsoring group couldn’t manage to carry out the assignment appropriately. To create matters worse, the group leader who made the announcement of the alleged suspension is a NNPP member who ran for council in Ganduje ward but was defeated.

We urged the party’s national body and security services to assist in apprehending and prosecuting the gang for impersonation. and making an effort to make the party disenchanted. We beg everyone in our party to ignore this kind of disinformation intended to cause division within the group.
In the meantime, a few North Central APC stakeholders have asked that the APC leadership seat be moved back to their region.

The irate APC veterans said to reporters in Abuja on Sunday that Ganduje’s purported imposition on the party was inconsiderate and a blatant disregard for the party’s zoning procedure.

The Ganduje, a politician from North-West, was chosen to succeed Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s immediate past national chairman, who is from their region, according to Muhammad Etsu, Coordinator of Concerned North-Central APC stakeholders.

In order to correct the problem and maintain Ganduje’s suspension while attempts were underway to return the seat to their zone, Etsu appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the APC National Executive Committee.
“We urge all party leaders and interested parties to endorse the North-Central aspiration,” he declared. This would fortify the party, bring all interests together, and open the door for a strong APC to solidify its position across the board. Notably, we also urge people of conscience to pressure the ruling party to abide by the High Court of Kano State’s verdict, which forbids Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from leading the APC while the interlocutory injunction is being heard and decided.

This is to prevent giving Nigerians the impression that the party is anarchic, illegal, and in violation of the constitution. For this reason, we are urging the President and our party’s NEC to act swiftly to reposition the APC and ensure an inclusive NWC remake in which the North Central Zone reclaims the position of National Chairman, which it lost following the resignation of the previous Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.”

Sunny Sylvester, an APC leader from Adamawa, supported the agitation of the North-Central stakeholders by stating that it was the proper thing to do.

Following the press conference, Sylvester informed our correspondent that certain significant zoning violations The existence of opposition parties does not preclude the incumbent party from changing.

“This position belongs to the North-Central,” he declared. They were assigned it, and given Abdullahi Adamu’s departure from the party, it is expected that they will keep the seat.

Sylvester objected when told that since Ganduje had obtained an interim court order calling for the status quo on all sides, the matter might turn into a contempt of court case.

No, Ganduje did not go to the court that issued the first exparte ruling; instead, he obtained the injunction from a court with concurrent jurisdiction. It was incorrect. The judge ordered him to stop presenting himself as the national chairman. He ought to obey.Stated differently, our position is to return this seat to the North-Central. where it should be. That’s the deal. The zone is made up of multiple states. I’m not from the Midwest. However, I believe that the proper course of action should be taken as a concerned party stakeholder from Adamawa State in the northeast.

“The same thing occurred when PDP member Iyorchia Ayu was ousted; his zone sought his seat. Everyone is aware of what comes next. However, we contend that the APC need to act honorably. We need not to emulate them,” he said.

Bala Ibrahim, the APC’s director of publicity, has a different opinion.

Ibrahim maintained that the national chairman’s persecutors were only attempting to make fun of the law and the judiciary.

People cannot act in a contrary manner when a court issues an order requiring the maintenance of the status quo ante. Not only is it blatant disrespect for the justice system, but it also shows complete disdain for the courts and, consequently, the nation’s anthem. Politics is giving way to brigandage at this point.

I suspect that a certain number of individuals are making an effort to show that they don’t have any regard for the court, notwithstanding the fact that the legal system granted them permission. Someone should confront severe consequences for this in order to bring the perpetrators to justice. The law is reasonable and applies with common sense. Now, common sense ought to tell you to “maintain status quo” until the issue at hand is resolved.

Ondo Gov primary: Despite protests, the APC begins collating results

Despite protests from several candidates who claimed irregularities, the results collation process started on Sunday night at around nine o’clock.
The contest to become the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) nominee for governor of Ondo State on November 16, 2024 is drawing closer to the finish line.

Despite protests Ondo Gov primary results

The packed hall contained party supporters, members of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), local watchmen and guards.
The chairman of the seven-member APC committee overseeing the Sunshine State’s governorship primary, Ododo, encouraged the 16 candidates to see the process as a competition between brothers. He reminded them that the bigger race will still be held on November 16, 2024, when voters will select the political party with the most candidates.

The Kogi governor then asked the returning officers from each of the 18 local governments in Ondo to announce the results. The governor was accompanied by other party heavyweights, including the deputy committee chair and former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege.

171,922 members from the 203 wards of the state’s 18 local government areas were anticipated to participate in Saturday’s primary, according to the ruling APC.

In the race for the party’s November ballot, sixteen formidable contenders are competing. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is one of them, along with Morayo Lebi, Garvey Iyanjan, Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Jimoh Ibrahim, Isaac Kekemeke, Soji Ehinlanwo, Akinfolarin Samuel, Olusola Oke, Adewale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema, and Funmi Waheed-Adekojo.
Candidates including Edema, Oke, and Akinterinwa have subsequently denounced the way the exercise was conducted and demanded that it be canceled.

Protests earlier on Sunday were held in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, when some party members demanded that the exercise be canceled and that Ododo be removed from his position as chair of the committee.
The exercise’s winner should be revealed by Ododo at any minute.

Nollywood: Kanayo Kanayo: YouTube won’t be a viable platform in Nigeria

The abundance of Nigerian performers and producers on YouTube has alarmed veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O Kanayo.
He pointed out that the common practice of casting aspiring actors for rigorous one-day filming on YouTube was bad for their long-term sustainability and professionalism.

Nollywood: Kanayo Kanayo

Kanayo criticized the practice of demanding outrageous rates for one-day shootings, in which actors are expected to do multiple sequences in a condensed amount of time, in an Instagram video.
He stated that actors’ health may be impacted by such stressful working conditions.
Kanayo emphasized how Nigerian actors prioritize short-term advantages over sustainable methods, demonstrating a lack of expertise and forethought.

In closing, Kanayo expressed his opinion that YouTube’s existence in Nigeria might decrease if this kind of usage of the platform persists.

Block by block, brick by brick, we constructed Nollywood, he said, “but the actors who have taken over YouTube, not the producers, have no idea why they are there or how to establish a process for making content or a long-lasting videography.

Consider the irony of a one-day shoot as an example. It can’t last. These days, some of them really complicate things for producers. They claim that a day shot costs either N1.5 million or N1 million. It cannot continue.

PDP Crisis: The Disintegration Of Atiku Plot Against Damagum

0

New information has surfaced on the failure of former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s plan to install a candidate from the North Central to succeed Amb. Umar Damagum as the acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

PDP crisis Atiku disintegration and plot against Damagum

Vizta Daily discovered on Saturday that Damagum’s backers, who are primarily supporters of Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), fostered the myth that legal actions would obstruct efforts to remove him from office.

In response, the Atiku team advised Dr. Iyiorchia Ayu, the former National Chairman, to remove the matter he had on file against the party. Yes, he did.

Ayu was in court contesting his dismissal from the position. His move was hailed as a triumph since it was understood to the elimination of any legal barriers to his replacement leaving his area.

The alternative was that the party’s candidate for governor of Nasarawa State in the 2023 elections, Dr. David Umbugadu, would be nominated, or former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, and former PDP deputy national secretary, Emmanuel Agbo, would both be from Benue State. This was not the case.

The PDP’s official spokesperson, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, provided the party’s justification for delaying action on the Damagum replacement issue.

“Our party stresses the need for reconciliation and stability within the party at this time,” Ologunagba stated. As a result, the National Chairman Damagum issue has been postponed until the following NEC meeting, which is now set for August 15, 2014.

But according to Saturday Vanguard findings showed that those supporting Atiku’s dismissal of Damagum had overlooked important points in their planning.
They unintentionally or conveniently let fifth columnists working for Atiku’s fiercest opponent, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, to take advantage of them.

“With all the media bliss surrounding agitations for a candidate from the North Central, there was nothing before our governors forum, caucus, or NEC to suggest seriousness,” stated a high senior party leader who begged for anonymity out of fear of retaliation. The zone should have sent us a written statement expressing their intention to take over Ayu’s vacant position. This was not completed.

Whoever is advising them has also failed to take into account the 2017 amendment to Section 45(2) of the Constitution proposed by our party. which discusses national officers’ resignation or removal.

It states that in the event that the National Chairman is unable to serve in that capacity, he must defer to the Deputy National Chairman from his own region or portion of the nation, who will operate in that capacity in accordance with Section 47(6) of the Constitution until a successor is elected.

Remember that when Dr. Iyiorchia Ayu was set to be elected National Chairman, he was escorted around by Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State at the time, a well-known figure in the Wike-led group of five (G-5) governors.
He is successful in persuading party stakeholders—first in his region, then nationally—to support Ayu.

But this time, the party mainstay claimed, “They (the Atiku camp) made the appropriate noises in the media but were unable to mobilize effectively.

“They also neglected to consider the tension that has developed in many states around the contentious list of Caretaker Committee members.”In this regard, the governors gave Damagum a second chance at redemption when he agreed to make the required changes to the list.

The source went on to say that underestimating Wike’s impact would be foolish.

“Apart of the current 13 governors, if taken in tandem, there is no anybody within our party today who has the abilities to distribute favoritism in both kind and money like Wike for obvious reasons,” the speaker claimed. The advantages and disadvantages of Damagum’s dismissal were considered during the actual Caucus meeting. It was decided that while he stays, the matter shouldn’t be listed on the schedule. That explains why it wasn’t on the NEC meeting’s agenda.

Wike is currently making sure the Waziri don’t take over the party after working against Atiku in the presidential race. It seems he’s the party leader for the time being.

The matter of Rivers State

Another party source, present at the late-Wednesday pre-National Caucus meeting between Governors and the Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC), disclosed that the list problem, particularly with regard to Rivers State, resulted in an altercation.

“Tempers rose, voices were raised, tables were struck, but no one slapped anyone,” the person claimed. The group that created the list and Capt. Umar Bature, the National Organizing Secretary, received verbal abuse for not appropriately consulting state governors prior to the list’s release.

When the Rivers case was presented, Governor Similaye Fubura rejected the list with no holds barred.

“Among his fellow governors, he found strong allies, particularly Governor Bala Mohammed, Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, and Governor Sheriff of Delta State.”

The NWC was then given the task of quickly notifying the public of the outcome of their search for “a political solution” to the issues brought out by the governor.

Wike’s victorious arrival at NEC
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, arrived for the NEC meeting wearing the full regalia of his position, complete with an official escort of cars with sirens screaming following the start of the conflict the gathering.

Prior to this, the PDP National Secretariat’s entrance and exit points were cordoned off by a combined team of armed security personnel led by Ben Igwe, the Commissioner of Police in Charge of the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service, and Department of State Services (DSS) agents.

Numerous armored personnel carriers and numerous trucks filled with fully equipped riot police officers were positioned in key spots throughout the area.

Due to the strong security presence, traffic was diverted, which caused congestion to extend from the well-liked Sky Memorial Complex to the Berger Roundabout.

Thank you singers, admirers, and snack and drink vendors who typically provide color on these occasions were limited to areas distant from the meeting location.

In reference to allegations concerning Israel’s attacks on Gaza, workers carried placards that read, among other things, “Googlers against Genocide.”

Yahaya Bello is a former governor of Kogi State, and the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, has requested him to turn himself in to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC is empowered by statute to call any person of interest to communicate with them throughout their investigation into any subject, regardless of status, he claimed in a statement issued on Thursday.

Bello, who is accused of laundering N80 billion, declined to show up on Thursday before the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he was scheduled to enter a plea.
In an attempt to apprehend Mr. Bello, EFCC agents earlier on Wednesday besieged his home in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, for a number of hours.
The police officers manning the residence provided the operators with significant resistance, making it impossible for them to execute the court-ordered arrest.

Later on during the police-EFCC standoff, Usman Ododo, the current governor of Kogi State, turned up at the residence.

Later on, he was said to have driven away from the house in Mr. Bello’s official car.

Although Mr. Bello’s attorneys were present, he did not show up for his planned arraignment on Thursday.

AGF responds, However, the AGF, Mr. Fagbemi, denounced the former governor’s actions in a statement issued later on Thursday, specifically mentioning his refusal to appear in court.

The minister expressed “grave concern” over the impasse between the police and the EFCC.

In the course of their investigation into any subject, regardless of status, the EFCC is authorized by statute “to invite any person of interest to interact with them,” he stated.

Therefore, the least that any of us can do when invited is to honorably accept the EFCC’s invitation rather than placing any obstacles in their path.

A circumstance in which law enforcement officials, who are also protected by public authorities, will build a barrier to hinder the lawful and glorious efforts of the EFCC in conducting out out its mandate is, to put it mildly, extremely unsettling.
“Therefore, I implore anyone who has received an invitation from the EFCC or any other organization to promptly follow the path of decency and civility by accepting such an offer rather than starting a self-help or escapism project that will only damage our nation’s reputation abroad.”

Desired

AFCC proclaimed Mr. Bello sought during the proceedings on Thursday.
The commission asked the public to come forward to the organization with any reliable information regarding Mr. Bello’s whereabouts.

During the hearing on Thursday, Kemi Pinheiro, the prosecution attorney for the EFCC, stated that the current Governor of Usman Ododo, of Kogi State, is rumored to have secretly driven Mr. Bello away in his official car.

EFCC prosecutor Kemi Pinheiro, who was incensed that Mr. Bello had neglected to appear in court for his arraignment on Thursday, stated that the government would have no problem calling the military to bring him before the judge.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mr. Pinheiro, who was leading Jibrin Okutepa, SAN, on behalf of the prosecution, described the scene as a “bloodbath.” was avoided because of the anti-graft agency’s skill in managing the standoff between the police personnel stationed at the residence preventing the former governor’s arrest and EFCC agents attempting to apprehend Mr. Bello.
The prosecuting attorney made it clear that although Mr. Ododo is immune from prosecution, Mr. Bello, his predecessor, no longer has that protection and needs to appear in court.

If required, we will ask the military to bring the person in question. (Mr. Bello) in court,” Mr. Pinheiro stated, citing section 12 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015. Immunity is a personal trait; it is not a property. The accused will appear in court.

However, Abdulwahab Muhammad, Mr. Bello’s attorney, said that his client was not in violation of any judicial mandate.

The SAN, Mr. Muhammad, referenced a Kogi State High Court order prohibiting the EFCC from apprehending and holding his client. The court was located in Lokoja.

Additionally, the defense attorney said that the Court of Appeal in Abuja was still considering an appeal on the suit.

After looking into Mr. Bello and his family for years, the EFCC decided to put him on trial.

The N10 billion money laundering allegations the commission brought against the former governor’s nephew Ali Bello and a co-defendant in 2022 were the product of its extensive probe into the previous governor.

In one of the recently submitted counts, the prosecution designated former Governor Bello as an accomplice rather than a defendant.
The EFCC filed a new lawsuit alleging that Mr. Bello, his nephew Ali Bello, Dauda Suleiman, and Abdulsalam Hudu—who is allegedly still at large—colluded to convert a total of N80 billion (N80, 246,470, 088.88) in February of 2020.
