Rivers Governor Siminalayi Fubara has boasted that he had accomplished more in his short year in office than his eight-year tenured predecessors combined.

According to Fubara that within his first year in office, his administration achieved more in terms of project delivery and services than some other governments did during their eight years in office.

At the official launching of the Andoni section of the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road project, which is located in the Andoni Local Government Area, on Saturday in Ngo Town, the governor of Rivers State made the comment.

Fubara went on to say that his administration has only three months to reach its objectives before actually starting to work because of the ongoing political upheaval in the State.

In an announcement about upcoming health sector changes, Governor Fubara said that it was startling that Rivers State’s enrollment rate fell short of the standard. Regarding the accessibility of medical services according to current data.

Fubara explained that the numbers had no connection to any particular The administration’s prolonged tenure demonstrates an unbearable level of contempt for the sector.

However, he promised that within the next six months, Rivers citizens may expect to see evidence of the significant investment his administration has made to change the narrative.

During the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) meeting on Wednesday, he said, “We received an update from the chart on the medical position of all the states.” It was separated into zones.

You won’t believe that Rivers State was ranked lower than baseline in that table for all enrollment-related factors, including the assessment’s findings regarding the state’s facility quality. It’s It’s regrettable.

This is not something that happened suddenly. This is not an isolated instance from my time working for the government. No, no. It is an assortment of data that has been accumulated throughout time. That proves our statement that our primary objectives are agriculture, healthcare, and education was correct.

Despite the fact that we might have done other things, those crucial regions have not gotten adequate attention. And we promise our people this afternoon that, in the next six months, the health sector in Rivers State would undergo a full transformation, with God’s particular favor.

Speaking about the project, Governor Fubara commended the former governor, Dr. Peter Odili, as well as the governments that came after him for their roles in seeing it through to completion. the People’s Unity Path.

Speaking to the Andoni people during electioneering campaigns, Governor Fubara declared that he would not back down from his commitment to building internal highways since his guiding principle is still prioritizing the needs of the people.

In order to start the process of scoping out the reconstruction of Ngo’s internal roadways and drafting a new contract for the road’s expansion to Oyorokoto Town, the governor instructed the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works to get in touch with Monier Construction Company (MCC).

“But let me just emphasize one thing: the Unity Road section that links Andoni with Ogoni and Opobo/Nkoro is now a reality,” he went on. It is the most important thing.

“Dr. Peter Odili, the catalyst, is the first that needs to be thanked. We are indebted to the previous administrations for their contributions in bringing about the current state of affairs.

It is imperative that we dispel this myth. The Permanent Secretary has brought up the cost of the job and the review. The nice part is that we have no debt for this particular project,” he said.

Fubara said, “We’re glad it’s happening in our time.” Our credo is ‘The People First,’ and we ought to approach all matters concerning the people with great gravity.

“If this is the road, I know we’ve already completed it.” Politicians have already twisted the course. I want to get beyond my political stance on this method. I would like to stress that we have to grow our own, and if we have to, we have to do it ourselves. Therefore, I promise my people that we will construct more jobs and connect roadways for the Andonis with God’s special favor.

‘I recall that during our campaign, we made a pledge to our supporters that if they supported us, they would receive internal roads.’ And the reason we won the election was because of God’s extra kindness in sending the Andonis our way.

So allow me to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for your help. Despite the new circumstances, we are grateful for your continued support of the government after the election.

Many thought that this would be the last day they would be here Others had thoughts that differed from mine. However, to the glory of God, people who have come to show their support and thanks for the job that this government is doing are providing unpaid assistance.

Fubara

In order for the federal government to implement life-changing programs that will eventually have an impact on state and local government areas, Fubara pleaded for the public to have faith in President Bola Tinubu’s administration and to support it without wavering.

‘I know there are issues in the other Andoni communities as well,’ he said. Among these are flood-related issues, which is the more significant issue.

‘I know of a place called Oronija. They have serious issues with flooding, erosion, and other issues. We’re going to do something about it. Today, I’m pledging myself to my loved ones.

In addition, I would want to request the support of all members of this assembly for the federal government. I’m happy that our leader brought up the operations of the oil companies here and said that nothing is disrupted. I was impressed by that.

It proves that we are contributing positively and that we understand the need of maintaining peace. Thus, I beg you to please behaving honorably and in a sincere manner when hosting.

The achievement of the sub-national’s success is at the core of our country’s governance. After the state, the sub-national unit, succeeds, local governments will flourish. Additionally, more life-changing projects and initiatives will be implemented in your community if local governments are successful.

I also remember that hospitals were mentioned as another important issue that our governance needed to deal with. When we arrive here, we’ll make sure that need is satisfied.

Hon. Awaji-Inombek Abiante, the National Assembly member for the Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, stated during his welcome address that despite the road’s shorter length of less than 30 kilometers, it unfortunately needed the work of three different contractors to finish.Rivigo, Monier Construction Company (MCC), RAFFOUL Nigeria Limited, and Construction Company will all deliver it in a single day.

Abiante claimed that since the establishment of the current democratic system, this was the first occasion on which the Andoni people had gathered for the opening of a development project on Ogbolo territory.

He expressed his gratitude to Governor Fubara for making it happen and said that more significant infrastructure improvements were needed in the area to enable the residents to fully engage in the promising blue economy sector.

Abiante congratulated Governor Fubara for accomplishing the feat and allowing them to drive on land from the city to their numerous communities, pledging that the people would work to ensure the prosperity of his government.
Speaking as well, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national chairman Prince Uche Secondus stressed the need of making it clear that Dr. Peter Odili’s proposal, the Unity Road, had its first foundation stone laid on January 3, 2005, not 2004.

Prince Secondus congratulated Governor Fubara on completing the project, calling it a marvel now that land transportation is possible from the city to Andoni.

According to Engineer Atemea Briggs, Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Works, the Andoni segment of the Ogoni-Andoni/Opobo Unity Road project is 27.5 km long, 7.3 meters wide, and has side drains that are 2.5 km long.

Engineer Briggs stressed that the project was re-awarded to MCC on July 13 by Governor Fubara. The contract amount was raised in 2023, from N9.984 billion to N11.1 billion, as a result of escalating costs for petroleum products and materials.

Although the history of this route is well known to many of us, His Excellency’s bold action was ultimately required to give the Andoni people the road they had long wanted.

The road project was overseen by RAFFOUL Nigeria Limited until July 13, 2023In order to guarantee the project’s prompt completion at that time, His Excellency awarded it to Monnier Construction Company, MCC.

The undertaking’s original N9.984 billion contract value was ultimately increased to N11.1 billion as a result of changes in the cost of petroleum products and working materials. This contract has been fully paid as of today, when the commissioning was completed.

This road spans 27.5 kilometers and has a width of 7.3 meters. As you can see, there are 40 millimeters of asphaltic wearing course and 60 millimeters of binder course making up the asphalt’s 100 millimeter thickness.

Within the community, there are 2.5 kilometers of side drainages. The length of its side case is 12.6 kilometers, while the three bridge spans together measure a total of 20 by 20 meters, or 60 meters.

Today is a historic day since this road is a great gift to the Andoni people. It fulfills His Excellency’s promise and duty to present it in the first year of his administration. That promise has now been fulfilled, having been delivered in a record-breaking five months,’ he carries on.
Governor Fubara was given the title of Njenyisi 1 of Ogbolo Land, which means “champion of development of the people,” by the Andoni chiefs, led by King Aaron Ikuru, Okan-Ama of Ikuru Town, after they displayed the traditional kola nuts.
